Pets are both mounts and cash earners. Speed helps you win egg races. Income funds Radar and rebirth. Jump helps on tall terrain. Hatch sources and rare routes are on eggs.

Weather mutations
Short weather storms apply mutations to map eggs and to pets that are eligible. Park keepers in the Pen before a storm you care about.
- Weather events apply mutations. Each storm lasts about five minutes.
- Map eggs can pick up the active weather mutation while the storm is live.
- Pets in your Pen, or the pet you are riding, can be struck. Pets left in inventory are not eligible.
- Park a keeper in the Pen before the storm if you care about that mount. Fast riding can miss the bolt.
- Hatching a mutated egg is the sure way to get that mutation on the new pet.
- A pet holds one mutation. A stronger weather strike replaces a weaker label. Read the pet card after every strike.
- Mutations raise Cash earnings and sell price. Shocked, Volted, and Rage also multiply Speed.
- Only chase mutations on pets you plan to keep riding.

What is the fastest pet in Ride A Pet?
Kitsune has the highest base Speed at 1 billion (Jump 170, Income 90 million). Dragon has 300 million Speed, Jump 150, and the highest Income at 300 million.
Kitsune or Dragon?
Pick Kitsune for rare egg races and covering more of the map. Pick Dragon when you need plot cash for Radar buys or rebirth.
What do weather mutations do?
They raise Cash earnings and sell price on a pet or egg during a short storm. Shocked, Volted, and Rage also multiply Speed at 2x, 3x, and 4x. Void is 10x Cash with no Speed boost. Eternal is 100x Cash with no Speed boost.
How do I get a mutation on a pet I already own?
Put that pet in the Pen before the matching weather, or keep riding it during the storm, then check for the new label after lightning. Inventory pets do not get struck.
Should I sell every weak hatch?
Check Index first. A new entry can still be worth keeping for collection rewards even if Speed is low.
Is Kangaroo worth keeping?
Yes as a mid mount. Easter Eggs can roll Kangaroo around 1 in 3,000 with far better Speed and Income than starters.
